The mean temperature of Isachsens Stats. 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 9, 10,and 11, is ° C. As Stats. 5 and 7 are farther west than any ofMohns stations, they might be left out; but this will make no appreciabledifference in the mean temperature. As the observations at Isachsens stations were taken about 34 daysearlier in the season than those at Mohns stations, their mean temperaturemight be increased to i°C. in order to be comparable with the meantemperature of the latter. The water of the current should accordinglyhave been about C. colder in 1878 than in 1910. This agrees Skrifter. I. Kl. 1912. No. 12. 3. 1000 34 BJ0RN HELLAND-HANSEN AND FRIDTJOF NANSEN. The mean latitudes of these three different groups of stations are approximately the same, but owing to the difference in season, the mean temperatures would have to be increased to C. for Mohns stations and to C. for Isachsens stations, in order to be comparable with the temperature C. of MakarofFs stations. According to these values, the current should have been, in1910, C. warmer th
