St Paul Deptford London, nave from west; by Thomas Archer between 1712 and 1730

St Paul Deptford. One of the 'Fifty New Churches' or 'Queen Anne Churches'. Built in the Baroque style by Thomas Archer between 1712 and 1730. The nave narrows at the east end where the galleries project forward like giant theatre boxes. The shallow apse contains a curved Venetian window and is decorated with trompe l’œil painting by Henry Turner.
