Visitors to our Seed Farm last summer were enthusi- astic in their praise of this new and exceedingly pretty Sweet Alyssum. The plants are very dwarf, spreading, and remarkably uniform in growth: they only grow three to four inches high, and each plant spreads so as to completely cover a circular space twelve to twenty incuus in diameter. The plants begin to flower while quite young, and soon become one mass of white, re- maining in full bloom from spring to fall—each plant being densely studded with the beautiful miniature spikes of deliciously fragrant flowers. More than jour hundred clusters offlowers in full bloom have heen counted on a single plant. The Little Gem is entirely distinct and very much more beautiful than the popular old Sweet Alyssum. It is Impossible to say too much in praise of this new strain ;—again the past season, among all our trials of Asters none could surpass these, while the ^Vhite Queen was admittedly the best white Aster in the entire collection. ^ The dwarf bushy plants grow only ten to twelve inches high, and while branching very freely, the branches are upright (not loose in habit), make a dense, compact bush —excellent for pot culture as well as for bedding. The flowers are of extraordinary sise, perfectly double, and resemble the finest Victoria Asters in form — excellent for cutting. On a single plant we counted forty flowers and large buds, while many small buds were appearing. White Queen, spotless white, . 15 cts. Crimson Queen, rosy crimson, 15 cts. Dark Blue Queen, .
