At the Market. Camille Pissarro (French, 1830-1903). Monotype; sheet: 31 x 25 cm (12 3/16 x 9 13/16 in.); image: x 16 cm (8 7/8 x 6 5/16 in.). Pissarro probably learned the technique of monotype from his friend Edgar Degas. Although it allowed him to work in a spontaneous and expressive way, the medium never played a significant role in his work.
