The fisheries, consisting of lobsters, herring, clams andmackerel, named in order of value, brought in $22,300. Engaged inthis business were 4 schooners, a sloop and 30 dories. The capitalstock of the seven national banks amounted to $2,015,000 ; and thedeposits in the two savings banks, at the close of business last year,amounted to $9,975,548. A co-operative bank here, just instituted,has started a fair amount of business. The number of legal voterswas 0,036.
