One small area of diorite in Gull River wasthe only sample of this rock noted by me in the district explored, Huronian Areas. This areas of this formation are small and seem to occur in strips, surrounded by theKeweenawan. The largest area noted was that surrounding Squirrel Lake. ^ The chit^frocks of this formation noted were porphyroids, hornblende and mica sohists and apeculiar greenish slate.
