It has long broad petals of a bright primrose-yellow; grows 5 to 6 feet high, flowers from August to October. Purpurea (Giant Purple Cone-Flower). Flowers about 4 inches across, of a peculiar reddish-purple with a remarkably large cone-shaped centre of brown; forms bushy plants 3 feet high, and blooms from July to October. Sub-tomentosa.
