Vitamin B6, pyridoxine, is the precursor to pyridoxal phosphate (PLP), a coenzyme in more than 100 metabolic reactions of amino acids, glucose and lipids. Vitamin B6 is abundant in beef, turkey, pork, bananas, potatoes and chickpeas. Atoms are represented as rods and are colour-coded: carbon (black), hydrogen (white), nitrogen (blue) and oxygen (red).
