Nighttime image of Dracula's Abbey in Whitby, North Yorkshire, England

The black and white image captures the essence of the atmosphere surrounding this historical Abby in Whitby. At nighttime there is an eery chill that can be felt when approaching the site on top of the hill over looking the sea. Bram Stoker's character Count Dracula was said to have escaped Transylvania and spirited himself onshore in England. It happened one dark and stormy night, when he disembarked a vessel - disguised as a black dog. The town of Whitby celebrates this legend with an annual festival, and a local brewery produces a super drink appropriately named "Black Dog".
