A military partisan or Langue de Boeuf North European, 17th century. The head formed of a broad blade of flattened diamond section double-edged over its full length, the upper third with recessed sides (in slight asymmetry) tapering to a triangular point, and with tubular socket fitted with a later pair of iron straps: on later wooden haft.
