(168) SUBMISSION TO THE INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS OF ZOOLOGY BY THE SECTION ON NOMENCLATURE OF THE REPORT BY THE INTERNATIONAL COMMISSION ON ZOOLOGICAL NOMENCLATURE ON THE USE OF THE EXPRESSION "NOMENCLATURE BINAIRE" IN THE " REGLES INTER- NATIONALES DE LA NOMENCLATURE ; At a meeting of the Section on Nomenclature held at the Sorbonne this morning (Friday, 23rd July, 1948) the foregoing Report by the International Commission on Zoological Nomenclature on the use of the expression " nomen- clature binaire " in the Regies Internationales de la Nomenclature Zoologique was unanimously approved and adopted. 2. At the unanimous request both of the International Commission on Zoological Nomenclature and of the Section on Nomenclature, this Report is now submitted to the International Congress of Zoology for approval at their final plenary session to be held on Tuesday next, 27th July, 1948. 3. The Report now submitted was prepared in compliance with an arrange- ment approved by the Twelfth International Congress of Zoology at its final plenary session held at Lisbon in September, 1935, under which, on receiving a request from the Comite Permanent des Congres Internationaux de Zoologie that further consideration should be given by the Section on Nomenclature to the question of the use in the Regies Internationales of the expression " nomenclature binaire " which had been the subject of debate by the Section on Nomenclature of the Eleventh International Congress of Zoology at its meeting held at Padua in 1930, the President had referred the matter back to the International Com- mission for further examination and report. In submitting the present Report to the Thirteenth International Congress of Zoology, the International Com- mission on Zoological Nomenclature and the Section on Nomenclature have discharged the duty severally laid upon them by the Twelfth International Congress of Zoolog
