The church membership has increased to almost thirteen thousand, and invest-ment in church and parsonage property has reached $1,018,795, ^^^ pastoralsupport has attained the sum of $160,566, while the annual contributions to thebenevolent causes has grown to $29,645. By this law it was to be acoeducational institution styled the State University of North Dakota, made upof a combined college of arts and letters and a normal college. It is of someinterest to note in this name the first official use of the words North Dakota, thesister institution in what was later South Dakota being called the University ofDakota. On the same date an act was approved providing for the issuance ofterritorial bonds to the amount of $30,000 to provide for the construction of thepresent main building of the university.
