OXNARD, Calif. (Mar. 20, 2019) – Navy Builder 2nd Class Christen Makin (Right), from Lexington, Kentucky, and Builder 1st Class Lance Fairchild, from Nederland, Colorado, both assigned to Underwater Construction Team 2, secure a cable to a pad eye on an expeditionary quay wall patch (Curley patch) during a proof of concept test aboard Naval Base Ventura County in support of Pacific Blitz 2019 (PacBlitz19). The Curley patch technique provides expedient repair to piers and wharfs enabling military forces to continue to utilize the port to provide logistical support to the operating forces.
