MCAS FUTENMA, OKINAWA, Japan— A CH-53E Super Stallion helicopter flies over water during a company extract training exercise June 16 along the coast of Okinawa, Japan. The CH-53E is the Marine Corps’ primary lift helicopter, it can carry 16 tons of cargo or a 26,000 pound light armored vehicle. Since 1981, Marines have used these helicopters to deliver troops, vehicles and supplies from ships to shore.
