Where there is no Sub-division into independent panels, accord-ing to Plates 11 and 12 of the Handbook (fig. 7): the ornamentfollows the natural lines of division furnished by the diagonals. Inthis case the nvunber of the single, similar triangles of divisiondepends on the number of sides (fig. 6). Decorated Star-shaped panels are extremely common in the Arabianand Moorish styles, where the ornament is often of such a characterthat it would very well suit a simple polygon, and only fills outaccidentally (so to speak) the star angles (figs. 4, and 5). 250 ENCLOSED Plate 151.
