The Telegraph 11 December 1937 Sandgate Shark-Proof Enclosure Completed 182030801 ) Work on the new shark proof fence at Sandgate was completed to-day and the enclosure is now in use. Next week a start will be made with the flood lighting for the Christmas and New Year holidays. The enclosure provides a safe bathing area of twelve and a half acres.
