Mitral valve replacement. Post-operative coloured X-ray of a lateral (side) view of the chest of a patient who has had mitral valve replacement surgery. The mitral valve regulates the flow of blood between two of the heart's chambers, the left ventricle and the left atrium. The heart is at centre right. The replacement valve (in two parts) is just right of centre.
