An Italian rapier with chiselled hilt, circa 1600. Double-edged thrusting blade of diamond section with deep fullers in the upper fifth on both sides, inscribed "SAHAGUM EN TOLEDO" and "IN TE DOMINE SPERAVIT", respectively. Ricasso on both sides with crowned S-markings. Iron knuckle-bow hilt with (19th century) gilding, one quillon arm is missing. Finely chiselled vine decoration on the obverse side. The grip wound with fine wire and Turk's heads. Slightly faceted pommel with cut decorations. Length cm. historic, historical,, 17th century, sword, swords, ,
