These officialFrench models are seldom seen outside of France, but this cannot be said for those of the BritishAdmiralty. By some means an occasional one hasdisappeared from the official museum and not afew of them have found their way into privatecollections in this country. Mr. Wiles has anAdmiralty model, that of a British fifty gundating from 1745, which is so complete that the. tiny copper cooking vessels can be seen on thegalley stove, the deck of the ship being leflunplanked in parts to give a view of the interior of the hull. Colonel Harry H. Rogers, who is an ardenl collector in this held, has an unusually fine groupof British Admiralty models, chiefh are the models of theWilliam and a couplie Charles II type. Aical example of this classmodel is represented inthe photograph of anearly type of frigate, the H. M. S. Jun,,,dating from [757, inthe collection at theSouth KensingtonMuseum. In the NewYork Yacht Club col-lection is another ofthese Admiralty mod-els, a warship of thelast half of the seven-teenth century thatwas found by Stan-lord White and pre-sented to the club bythe late J. PierpontMorgan. It is knownas the Royal Sove-reign and is believedto have been ab-stracted in some wayduring the transfer-ring of the collectionof models from Ken-sington palace to theNaval College atGreenwich in 1830.\ Spanish Below the water-line the hul
