Low- friction textile. Scanning electron micrograph (SEM). In a competitive sports, such as swimming, garments can improve performance. Most top athletes use body suits made of a material that mimics sharks skin. Like the real thing, this provides minimal drag when moving through the water, and gives vital seconds advantage to those wearing it. The garment is made of a knitted super-stretch nylon/elastane/polyester fabric that has V-shaped ridges and a denticle surface print. In water this means that water is sucked closer to the body and then passes over the swimmer far more x 40 @ 10cm wide.
