The Honolulu Fire Department’s Medal of Valor was awarded to Staff Sgt. Brentt Kiser, 735th Air Mobility Squadron, at the Mokulele Fire Station NO. 8, May 5, 2016. The Medal of Valor is given to individuals that have acted with extreme heroism without regard to personal safety. Kiser earned the medal after he purposely entered a smoke filled apartment to remove an incapacitated resident from a fire and pull him to safety.
