Identical Remote Area Monitoring System (RAMS) detector location panels, found in both the health-safety operations office and the reactor control room, and other monitoring equipment allowed operators to monitor radiation sensors located throughout the facility and to scram the reactor instantly if necessary. The color of the indicator lights corresponds with the elevation of the detectors in the various buildings.
