Flood debris piled up on the damaged Platypus Walk on the bank of the Mersey River. In early June 2016 northern and north-western Tasmania experienced some of the most serious floods on record. The Mersey River Valley was particularly badly affected. Platypus were missing for some time following the floods. Warrawee Forest Reserve, Latrobe, northwestern Tasmania, Australia
