The Turner Contemporary Gallery is on the site of Mrs Booth's guest house. The artist JMW Turner when he stayed at Mrs Booth's house when he went to Margate to paint. They began a love affair in 1833 and Mrs Booth supported Turner financially until his death in 1851.
