Tony Wench and Jane Faith pictured at the low impact 'That Roundhouse' they built at Brithdir Mawr in Pembrokeshire, Wales UK
Tony Wrench and Jane Faith built "That Roundhouse" situated at Brithdir Mawr near Newport, in Pembrokeshire National Park, South Wales. They built it without planning permission in the winter of 1997/98. The structure was only discovered in1998 when an aircraft surveying the area spotted it. The local authorities threatened demolition. It was granted retrospective planning permission in September 2008. The turf covered, solar- powered roundhouse was built with the aim of being self-sufficient and sustainable.
