In investigating the results of moderate irradiation, it is neces-sary to remove one testis immediately before the exposure, so asto have a control. This is required in view of the fact that non-irradiated testes may themselves present slight degenerativechanges. (a) Changes in the interstitial tissueafter prolonged exposure,the gland has alreadydecreased in size, but atthe same time is oede-matous, clear fluid exud-ing freely on incision .^Microscopic examination,at this time or a weeklater, shows merely somedistension of the connec-tive tissue spaces. Thenuclei of the interstitial .-tissue are unchanged in k^number or appearance ; 0there is no cell infiltration,and the blood-vessels areunaltered.
