The dredge willdig from 50,000 to 75,000 cubic yards of material per month. Thereare some dredges using a 3;2-cubic-foot bucket which will not ex-ceed 50,000 cubic yards per month. The standard dredge, however,uses the 5-foot bucket. This dredge has a hull about 36 by 90 feeton the water line, with a draft of 5 feet. It is fitted with two spuds—one wood, 50 feet long, weighing about 10 tons; one steel, 50 feetlong, weighing about 17 tons. The swing permits of a cut about90 feet in width. The bucket line can be run continuously on anypoint of the controller from the third notch to full speed.
