For the larger grape industries in wine- making or grape juice factories, they are usually shipped by the carload either in 32-quart hampers or in 50- pound lug boxes. These hampers or boxes are usually returned to the grower for use over again. Standard Sizes for Fruit Packages.—^Most of the states have adopted standards in weights and measures for the various kinds of fruits, but only two or three have passed laws regulating the size of the packages for fruits such as apples, pears, peaches, etc. Most of the present fruit packages are the result of various tests.
