Knight of the Livonian Brothers of the Sword, founded in 1202 by Albert I, Bishop of Riga. The order took vows of chastity, poverty and obediance, and to battle the infidels of Livonia. It became rich and was united with the Teutonic order in 1228. It split from the Teutonic knights in 1525, and was destroyed soon after.
