That bloodwas the life current of nearly 200 martyrs. It was the sacri-fice offered upon the sacred shrine of liberty. There are morethan a million who have made San Antonio their Mecca. Theycame to pay their tribute to the heroes who fell and were glori-fied there. Of these men of immortal fame were the braveBowie and Bonham, the courageous Crokett, the undauntedTravis and their handful of unfaltering followers.
