The cut flower market became dull •?Juring the latter part of the week as far as demand was concerned, though in other respects the market was at its best. Greatly reduced prices prevailed. The florists in the west end who do most of the social work report that trade has fallen off since Lent began, though considerable funeral work has helped out. In the downtown district the store men say transient trade was a big feature last week, though reduced prices prevailed at all the downtown stores. The wholesale men had a hard time disposing of their large consignments (luring the week. Violets and sweet peas were sold in large lots at low prices. All bulb stock is now coming in quite heavily and some extra fine tulips, Dutch hyacinths and valley were to be had daily at any of the wholesale markets. All of the above-mentioned tiowers are a glut. Itoses have held their own so far, with no glut in sight. Still, a great many are coming in and prices ..have weakened. All are of the best qiiality ?except American Beauties, which are ?of inferior quality and have little de- mand. All
