Recording home blood pressure readings. 81-year-old woman writing down the readings obtained from a digital blood pressure monitor (sphygmomanometer) being used at home. An inflatable cuff around the woman's upper arm is inflated and deflated to obtain the readings. The output screen displays the pulse rate and blood pressure readings. A typical healthy reading is 120/80 millimetres of mercury for systolic and diastolic blood pressure readings.
