Audiometry test. Audiometrist testing a patient's hearing. The machine on the desk is being used to generate a range of sounds of varying amplitude (volume) and frequency (tone). The patient, listening through headphones, will indicate whether she can still hear the sound. This will allow the audiometrist to produce an audiogram, showing the range of the patient's hearing.
