The 235th started running at full-speed today, testing their capabilities as part of the HRF’s streamlined response to chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, and high-yield explosive (CBRNE) incidences. The notional scenario involves a tractor-trailer crashing into a building in downtown San Francisco and another exploding nearby, releasing a harmful vapor cloud. At that same moment, a separate unknown chemical was released inside a theatre where more than 12,000 people were attending a sold-out concert. During evacuation, a cargo truck exploded. Hours later, an illegal chemical manufacturing plant was discovered in the Presidio and suspected of involvement in the attacks. (Army National Guard photo/Spc. Grant Larson)
