Sheikh Ibrahim was the current spiritual leader of the Burhaniya Sufi order and direct descendant of the founding saint The sheikh is close to his followers but he is not the centre of a rigid cult He reinforces the links among his community and officiates at the festival with an opening speech He also welcomes pilgrims throughout the festival of Holiya They come to greet him to seek his council and also to profit from his spiritual wealth Madad The scene unfolds into the heart of the holy night a living picture highlighting the almost brotherly links between the sheikh and his companions
