A late 19th Century illustration of the neoclassic United States Capitol, often called The Capitol or the Capitol Building, and meeting place of the United States Congress and the seat of the legislative branch of the federal government. Situated on Capitol Hill at the eastern end of the National Mall in Washington , USA. It was designed by amateur architect William Thornton and completed in 1811.
