Teenager gazing as sea life in front of the 9-meter deep tank at Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan. One of the largest public aquariums in the world, Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan is designed to allow visitors to walk through 16 exhibits and 27 tanks representing several habitats from the Ring of Fire area of the Pacific Ocean. Visitor start their tour of the aquarium on the 8th floor and slowly spiral down floor by floor around a central tank. The concept, architecture and exhibit design was carried out by Peter Chermayeff while at Cambridge Seven Associates.
