Two sampans passing each other, against a backdrop of fishing boats and tower blocks, Aberdeen Harbour, Hong Kong, China

Sampan owners tout for trade along Aberdeen Promenade. An hour trip, out through the eastern end of Aberdeen Harbour, into the East Lamma Channel and back through the typhoon shelter barrier at the western end, may cost the tourist some HK$ 400. Locals may see this as a tourist 'rip off', but the sights are well worth it. Some sampans take visitors to the Jumbo Floating Restaurant at the western end of Aberdeen Harbour
