Here you can see the part "corresponding" to the southeast corner of the Parthenon, part of the metopes of the east (right) wall and the south (left) wall, and also part of the freeze. The Metope of the south side depicts the fight of the Thessalian youths (Lapiths) against the Centaurs who attempted to abduct their women during a wedding celebration (Centauromachy). The Metope of the east wall presents the battle of the Olympian gods against the Giants, who tried to overthrow the order prevailing on Mount Olympus (Gigantomachy). The freeze presents the procession of the Great Panathenaia, the greatest festival of the city in honor of the Goddess Athena. Some of the original metopes are today located at the British museum and in the Acropolis museum you 'll see replicas of them made of plaster, which you can recognize by their whiter color.
