Beside the broad fireplace, tiled in brown, is aspacious cupboard, deftly concealed in the panelling,where are stored quantities of fine old silver andchina, the treasured possessions of many genera-tions of Warners and Sherburnes. This fireplaceis framed in quaint Dutch tiles, but instead ofgrate and andirons it contains a Franklin stove,surmounted by a queer cofiee-urn once owned byGovernor Langdon. A
