'Maiwand - Saving the Guns', (1901). The Battle of Maiwand in Afghanistan took place on 27 July 1880 during the Second Anglo-Afghan War. Emir Ayub Khan and Malalai of Maiwand, a woman, defeated a British brigade. Malalai rallied local fighters and fought alongside the Emir, resulting in the Afghan victory.
