Dhaka, Bangladesh - 30th March 2014: The Telugu Harijan community, which came from India, mainly lives off by scavenging. Their culture is rich having Spring Festival as their main festival for worship. They worship the god Shitala, also known as Ola mother, the goddess of sores, ghouls, pustules and diseases. They go into the woods in the spring (POX) and are kept free from diseases. The day after the festival, women wear new clothes and goes to a place of prayer.
