Ant. i has accessor) flagellum not much shorter than flagellum, 3-articulate; flagellum has 4 joints. Ant. 2 has 4 joints in flagellum. P. j has firsl joint (coxal plate) somewhat dilated apically; metacarpus very heavy, almost quadrate, somewhat resembling genus Eusirus. P. 2 almost as p. 1, but coxal plate not dilated distally, and second joint longer and narrower than in p. 1. P. 3—p. 4 al- most as in P. Holbolli, but with much fewer setae, and dacty- lus much longer, as long as metacarpus. P. 5—p. 7 not so setose as those of P. Holbolli. P. 5 have the 3 distal joints ra- ther narrow, and dactylus not much shorter than metacarpus. P. 6 is especially characteristic; the 4 distal joints very narrow and elongate (— the specific name is an allusion hereto —), especially metacarpus and dac- tylus; dactylus long, thin, acute, straight, as long as metacarpus. Also p. 7 has the distal joints elongated as compared with P. Holbolli, especially the curved dactylus which is abt. as long as the preceding joint. Uropoda differ very little from those of P. Holbolli, but have fewer spines; apical joint of inner ramus of urop. 3 not much shorter than proximal joint. Eobes of telson narrow, with one apical spine. Remarks. The species differs from the other species of the genus in the very long p. 6; also p. 1—p. 2 are very Fig. 47. l'hoxoeephalus tenuipes. Genus Leptophoxus G. 0. Sars. Leplophoxus G. 0.
