Eight green olive oil decanting tanks, Quinta Generacion Olive Oil Factory, Mendoza, Argentina

The Quinta Generacion Pasrai Olive Oil business, producing dried fruits, dehydrated vegetables and extra virgin olive oil, was started by the Muravnik Family in 1920. The production of olive oil can take up to four months. Oil, compressed out of an olive paste, is pumped into a series of tanks, from which the olive oil is filtered out. Olives are first ground into a paste. The paste is then compressed to separate olive oil and vegetable water from the vegetable fibre. A series of large tanks are then employed to decant the liquid components, the lighter oil separating from the water.
