(ooo motors forshort, single-truck cars, and two G. E. 57 motors for longcars, mounted on Brill maximum traction trucks, with 30- in. driving wheels in each case. The majority of the single-truck equipments are Peckham, although there are someDiamond and Brill. The Sterling brakes and fare registersare used in all the Metropolitan cars, with some New Blavenregisters on the Third Avenue Railroad. On the Broad-way line the Sterling fender is used, and the Consolidatedfender on all the other lines. The wheels are supplied bythe Rochester and New York Car Wheel Works. The. GRAVITY BRAKE RELEASE sweepers were inade l^y the Taunton Locomotive 1897 the original G. E. 800 motors, with which theLenox Avenue cars were equipped, were taken off, andG. E. 1000 motors substituted in their place. These carsare to-day running on the other Broadway divisions. Itwas found that the G. E. 800 motors were too light for thesevere service in New York City. The long cars were originally equipped with G. E 1000
