The anatropous seeds, one to eight in number, are borne ontwo parietal placentre (//f. iS* I^)- As a result of the crowdedarrangement they are usually flattened on one or more sides. Theouter testa {Fig. ij, III S) is gelatinous and transparent and throughit may be seen the delicate thread-like raphe and the brown hard IV.
