New York National Guard Spc. Alexander Bazhenov, a chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear specialist with the 222nd Chemical Company, 104th Military Police Battalion, celebrates a successful iteration on the M17 pistol lane during the 2023 State Best Warrior Competition on Camp Smith, , April 5, 2023. Bazhenov was one of six soldiers from across the state competing in a variety of soldiering skills. The winners were Sgt. Philip Stevenson and Spc. Adam Crist, both assigned to the 2nd Squadron, 101st Cavalry Regiment.
