February, Monday 4, 2013 – Christine Antorini, Danish Minister for Children and Education, is replying to a question in the Youth Parliament about Danish municipal schools. The Danish Youth Parliament is held every second year by the Danish Parliament. The 179 seats are taken by Danish secondary students, grades 8 and 9, invited to become politicians for one day. The purpose is to introduce the rules on which democracy is based in order to increase understanding of the processes leading to democratic decisions and to understand the interplay between the democratic decision-making processes.
