Within the limits of thisarticle I can present only aresume of the work of theexpedition. Before we leftNew York we decided ten-tatively to include in themonographic work, twenty-two genera of birds. Suc-cess attended our efforts tosuch an extent that we wereable to find and study everyone of these groups. In thepresent article I shall dealonly with our discovery ofthese two and twenty genera. Mrs. Beebe and the writerleft New York for London on December 26, 1909, andwere joined at Port Said bythe artist Mr. Horsfall, whoremained with the expedi-tion for the ensuing sixmonths.
