It is perhaps more usual to find it in the last men-tioned state. The tumor might readily be mistaken for a polyp oran ordinary hypertrophy unless carefully examined with a probe,when its hardness and immobility may be detected. Treatment.—In the early stages of chronic rhinitis we should en-deavor to soothe the irritated mucous membrane and to reestablishits normal functional activity. The warning against hasty and toofree use of destructive agents at this period cannot be repeated often
